50 Posts...! Is this the most ever?

Random thoughts...

I don't think the DOJ covered anything up for Nathan. That doesn't mean the guy is any good and it doesn't absolve him of shilling for pro-abort Mike Hellon, endorsing pro-abort Carolyn Allen, running the worst Governor's race ever, and managing to lose the defense of marriage amendment as well. That he makes great money doing all of this might be an injustice, but it is not illegal.

If Lisa James' people thought she was winning, does anyone think we'd be seeing so many letters coming out in the final few days? Good grief... Jim Click? Len Munsil? Laura Knaperek? This latest one with all of these lobbyists on it? Interesting that the latest with the delegation members and the lobbyists on it features only 36 state committeemen... Not exactly an awesome showing there...

Obviously these letters, like most hit pieces, are dropped at the last instance to deny Pullen a chance to respond in a timely manner. But his email to address the last bunch of garbage did a nice job of handling things. Hopefully he sends out another one to handle anything more recent.

State Senator Ron Gould mailed a letter of support to State Committeemen in Mohave County, endorsing Randy Pullen. A couple of folks up there say it went over really well. What does it mean when a State Senator's endorsement carries more weight than a Congressman's?

Tim,

I am curious as to how you would have ran the Munsil campaign differently? How would you have used those few pennies to get millions to leave Nappy's camp? How would you have combated the AZ press corps lockstep endorsement of our beloved imperial leader? If I were to criticize Nathan it would simply be that he allowed Len to run clean.

BTW, I am as conservative as you get and I also voted for Allen as did most people who know Rosati personally.

You don't have to be a political operative to know that Nathan Sproul is not an effective one. A non-professional can compare results to assess ability. The fact is that Bill Montgomery got more votes than Len Munsil while only spending 20% of the money that Munsil spent. I may not know exactly why or how, but the bottom line is that proves that Nathan ran a bad campaign. Even if it was an uphill fight for Munsil, he should not have gotten beaten so badly.

But that as it was, that wasn't even Nathan's biggest loss. He somehow managed to be the only political operative in history to lose an initiative protecting traditional marriage. You can't blame it on the language of the initiative, because Nathan played a role in drafting it, and because similar language passed in the far more liberal state of Wisconsin. What more evidence do you need that Nathan is not an effective political operative?
