The comments on the article were more interesting than the article (which is often the case on the internet these days).
I don't think I saw this but it probably has more to do with 'sun spot' activity or inactivity than anything to do with human activity.

Global warming is due largely to solar activity. The earth's temperatures oscillates according to the sun's output. It was warmer in 1,000AD than today (8 degrees above the historical median compared to 6 degrees today).
Americans driving SUV's have very little impact, of course we have some impact b/c we are part of the planet, but its not even noticeable.
You won't see this in the news b/c it doesn't fit the media's agenda.
Kind of like the story about 1/2 of the scientists on the UN IPCC report disagreeing with the Al Gore hype.

Global warming reminds me of the "population bomb" hysteria of the 1970s.
The world was soon going to be so crowded, we were assured, that we would soon all be standing on each others' toes and be starving to death.
It was nonsense of course, and in many countries today the concern is the opposite. Strange that we never hear any apologies from the people who were selling us that BS back then -- perhaps because they're busy selling us global warming today.

I'm just glad I didn't run out and trade my SUV for a Hybrid!! If it doesn't matter anyway we might as well be comfortable.
I understand China is bringing up a coal fueled power plant every week. As an emerging industrial nation, I don't think they are going stop what they are doing because we think they should have consideration for the world as a whole.
Wasn't there also the ice age scare in the 70's? Media hype comes to mind here.
Will be interesting to see how this all plays out for future generations.

COOOOOL!! Oh this is so cool. Global warming is just a hoax created by Al Gore and the liberal news media. The planet is actually cooling down. One hundred years of warming have been reversed!! We've got the proof right here! This is so, so cool.
Except it isn't true. Good grief, God gave you a brain, use it. One cold winter wipes out a long established trend of warming temperatures, rising sea levels, and the polar ice cap melting at an astounding rate? No way.
The graph shown indicates steep drop over the last year. You might notice there have been similar steep drops in years past. They've been followed by steep or even steeper rises. The trend over time is clearly going up.
You might want to take just a few minutes and investigate the sources of your information. The author of the graph disavowed the ridiculous notion that a cold winter has erased a century of warming:
The website DailyTech has an article citing this blog entry as a reference, and their story got picked up by the Drudge report, resulting in a wide distribution. In the DailyTech article there is a paragraph:
“Anthony Watts compiled the results of all the sources. The total amount of cooling ranges from 0.65C up to 0.75C — a value large enough to erase nearly all the global warming recorded over the past 100 years. All in one year time. For all sources, it’s the single fastest temperature change ever recorded, either up or down.”
I wish to state for the record, that this statement is not mine: “–a value large enough to erase nearly all the global warming recorded over the past 100 years”
There has been no “erasure”. This is an anomaly with a large magnitude, and it coincides with other anecdotal weather evidence. It is curious, it is unusual, it is large, it is unexpected, but it does not “erase” anything. I suggested a correction to DailyTech and they have graciously complied.

This is nothing but a grossly misworded headline to an article that a sophomore high school student with a B in science could poke full of holes. If you're willing to spend ten or fifteen minutes, check out the website for the source of the data used on the graph. That would be the Hadley Center for Climate Prediction and Research. You could start on this page:

and then work your way around their site for awhile.
Give me a break. One cold winter does not change global warming. I still have trouble figuring this one out. People on the conservative end are so certain that liberals and Democrats are wrong about absolutely everything that they'll stick their head in sand on global warming. The earth is God's creation. Destroying it for future generations just to prove that liberals are always wrong just doesn't add up. Get your heads out of the sand.
