Great post Greg! The only thing you forgot to weave in is a reference to that mortgage guy on KFYI who promises to convert your ARM to a fixed with no fees or closing costs, the "greatest no-brainer in the history of the world." This reminds me of accounting tricks and borrowing instead of cutting spending.

How does he stay in business with that magnanimous spirit?

Nice, very nice.

Why is the governor giving tips to people who MIGHT be in trouble financially when our/her state IS in trouble.

Come on, governor.

My wife and I experienced first hand today what happens as the state budget goes into the tank. We decided to take the Horseshoe cut-off from the Bartlett lake Road this morning. There is a little sign that says that this road is not for low cars as the road is 'not maintained'. Well, the rains this winter have about taken out the road and when my wife tried to renegoiate our route, we ended up in a deep hole. After two two trucks about 3 hours we got out of our predicatment. MSCO officers who came by help along (called a second tow truck after first one broke down) told us that the road is rapidly deterioating each day and that it will be virtually impassable in a year except for well equipped 4X4s. The MSCO currently uses only a very well equipped new Ford 4x4 on the road. The officers predicted that forest roads in this state would all fall into the same condition in the next year if the trends continue. I believe they are right.

Many years ago, too many too remember, my wife and I drove our regular little VW over that same road - no problems. Those days are over apparently.

Nothing like testing out the state of State of Arizona budget on an Easter Monday Morning :)
