I've had several readers--including my wife--point out the irony that I'm perhaps the most vocal critic of the Republic and that they endorsed me in the Hospital race this morning.
The Arizona Republic recommends the following candidates to meet the complex challenges that MIHS faces.
District 2: Greg Patterson, a former state legislator committed to the medically needy and to a new hospital.
My friends ask me what I have to say about the endorsement. I respond "two words...thank you."
I think it is fantastic & well deserved! We're pulling for you, Greg!!!

Dude...that's awesome!

I knew you'd have two words, but not those two.

How do you know that we need a new hospital if you're not even on the board yet? You get that in law school?

Greg, you apparently said the 'two words' the ed board wanted to hear - 'new hospital' - and for those who have been there - I agree - we do need a new hospital...

It was an editing error. They really wrote that you should be committed to a hospital.

When the Republic endorsed me in the Republican primary for Governor in 2006, my blog post was titled "Hell freezes over." I think the endorsement cost me at least 10 points.

It is nice to get the validation but John is right.

Rob Carey. That's two words as well.

My condolences.
I think they only endorse Republicans when they want them to lose ... ;-)

Perhaps the Arizona Republic is more unbiased than you imagined?

Repugnantloss of revenue=attempts at more balance!

I think that they endorsed Greg because they hope their endorsement will get them more favorable and friendly coverage on this blog (i.e. Greg will stop pointing our their bias and mistakes).

Do you have an election website?

Q: When is a $17.15 per month subscription to the Republic not a subscription to the Republic?
A. When you get a letter from them saying they're charging each subscriber an additional $1.50 to cover costs of producing the "huge Thanksgiving Day edition."
