I'm assuming that Espresso Pundit doesn't have many 12 year old fans, so I'm not too worried about spoilers, but if you take your kids to Marley and Me be warned that the last 20 minutes of the movie features the slow death of title dog. My kids were not amused. In fact, they are still mopey and crying.
Greg:
Sorry you had to deal with that. The movie is based on a book and I happened to know it was about the dog until he died. It is meant to be a tribute to the pet and what it gave to the family. Unfortunately, the marketing people have led people to believe it is a light comedy about a spunky dog. The rest is left for poor families to discover on their own. It reminds me of a traumatic experience in middle school when we watched the shortened version of Old Yeller, and I swear it was 4 minutes between meeting him and seeing him shot. I lost a dog last year so I may watch this film eventually, but not in public.
