My wife and daughters are huge fans of American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance. I don't care much for the content, but I'm very interesting in the voting. It seems like every week, one of the best performers ends up at the bottom while, one of the worst is towards the top. The audience seems to think that the results are so obvious that they don't bother to vote.
So when the Arizona Daily Star in Tucson asked its readership to nominate Tucson's "rising star" I naturally thought of Sen. Jonathan Paton. After all, he served in the State House of Representatives while on active duty in Iraq and came home to win a state Senate seat. He would be on any list of rising stars, but surely he is at the top of "Tucson's rising Stars under 40."
But not if his supporters don't nominate him. Here's the article from the Star.
So take a moment today and make sure that one of Tucson's rising stars gets the recognition he deserves.
Rep. Paton was named 40 under 40 in 2007 by the Tucson Citizen. The Star is taking this over from the Tucson Citizen.
