Pop Quiz.
If you were looking through the committees that are getting involved in a Phoenix City Council race and you saw an organization called "Citizens for a Better Phoenix", where do you think The Committee would be headquartered?
You guessed it...Las Vegas.
And who should be running it?
You guessed it..."a hardcore labor Democrat" from Massachusetts.
At least that's what Boston Globe Columnist Thomas Oliphant admiringly called "Citizen's for a Better Phoenix" Treasurer Gail Tuzzolo. Of course, to be fair, she no longer lives in Massachusetts, once her work for the Dukakis campaign was over, Tuzzolo moved to Las Vegas to become spokesman for the Nevada AFL-CIO. That's where she learned to play some serious hardball.
While Tuzzolo is the Treasurer of the "Citizens" group. Erin Kohn is the Chairwoman; here's what she says on her website.
Erin Bilbray-Kohn has decided to focus her consulting business on "Women Only" candidates and progressive organizations. Her clients include...emergeNevada, a non-profit that recruits and trains women to run for political office in Nevada and the Clark County Democratic Party.
Hmm, I don't see much about the issues that are affecting Phoenix. I don't want to sound cynical or anything, but it seems like Emerge, the Nevada AFL-CIO and "Citizens for a Better Phoenix" are more concerned about electing progressive Democratic women than they are about...you know...actual issues that affect Phoenix.
So if the group isn't interested in Phoenix issues and it's not really created by Phoenix "Citizens" and the hardcore labor progressive Democrats running it have a goal of getting women to run for political office, and if the Chairwoman is from the Nevada Chapter of "Emerge"...then who could the Committee have possibly been formed to support?
Golly, maybe it was formed to support the Executive Director of the local Emerge Chapter...hmm, that would be the Dana Kennedy. You remember her, she's the friend of Nancy Pelosi who is running against Sal DiCiccio.
And considering that Dana Kennedy is also on the Board of the Local AFL-CIO, I'm detecting a pattern...and that pattern is decidedly not local.
But don't worry, I'm sure that Ms. Kennedy is openly running on a platform of working with Nancy Pelosi and the AFL-CIO to elect hardcore labor, progressive Democratic women to key positions around the country.
Ha, I slay me. Actualy, she's just sending out hit pieces against DiCiccio.
Post Script.
I broke the Pelosi/Kennedy Connection here. Now I've made it clear that the "Citizens for a Better Phoenix" Committee isn't run by local "citizens" and isn't about "Phoenix" issues. I'll be interested in the local media reaction when the "Citizens" group sends out its first hit piece.
The Nancy Pelosi piece was enought to turn me against Kennedy. Now we got Las Vegas Labor in the game. . . sounds like criminal charges will follow. Odd that I just got a mail piece from her saying that she is supported by conservatives (none named). I guess she is smart enough to realize that her only hope of winning is to be on our side of the isle. Thanks for the good research work Greg. People need to know who not to vote for.

Classic move from a despeerate candidate.

I feel like I have made the big time! Espress Pundit has covered my campaign twice and expect there is more in the works :)
I am proud of the campaign I have run. On November 2, the voters in District 6 will elect a new council person and I believe they will vote for ethics and balance.

Kudos to Greg here.
This left-wing union goon-of-a-candidate Dana Kennedy has a long history of local activist thuggery. Phoenix voters deserve to know all about her and the unseemly kind of leadership that she is trying to bring to the Valley.
Vote NO on Dana Marie Kennedy and her Union politics.

Since Dana Kennedy is not from Phoenix I am not surprised her campaign team is not from here either. We also saw on election day that her voter support is not in Phoenix either when she got 15 percent of the vote. There is a reason she does not have a firm grasp on issues facing this city, and the electorate has picked up on it.

Phoenix could use a Nancy Pelosi type like Dana Kennedy right about now. The people and unions need to rise up and demand a progressive liberal agenda. Dana Kennedy wants to increase the size of govt to raise the GDP. Lets give some of the successful liberal ideas of the past a try right now.

I would expect nothing less from a candidate out of San Francisco. I have come to believe that people that move to Arizona from California really believe that we are a bunch of hicks and if they drive in here with their slick talk and fancy cars we will swoon.

I am sick and tired of Dana being referred to as a carpet bagger. Lots of people in this town are not from here and they can rise up like the mythical Phoenix and develop community attachment.
I came to Phoenix at the same time as Dana Kennedy seven years when we both came here to attend the Pathway Center in Glendale. We both fell in love with the peace and serentity of the Sonoran Desert and made a pact to stay here to grow as strong independent women starting new chapters in our lives.
We have not spoken in two several years but we continue to communicate spiritually through the power of our minds. We share an eternal bond and I have pledged the sacrifice of my being to her pursuits.

See folks, this is what we'll get more of if we elect Dana Kennedy. 'Nuff said.

HMM this can't be good Dana wrote:

The election is really on November 3rd. I don't think that she is going to last long if she is telling people to vote on Monday instead of Tuesday. However I suppose it could be the old method of vote early and often.

Yeah, and again, like last time - that's not actually Dana Marie Kennedy posting. Really? Sad tactic if you ask me.

On the back side of Dana Kennedy's mailer, it says "conservatives" are endorsing Kennedy. This is a obviously a misleading claim. I believe the slang term is "LOL."
The "Arizona Police Association" is a government employee labor union whose goal is to extract as much money from taxpayers pockets as possible. In places where government employee labor unions are powerful, taxes go up and quality of service goes down. Just look at California.
As for Greta Rogers, the "Ahwatukee Neighborhood Leader" listed as a Dana Kennedy endorser, I've seen that lady in action. She'll yell at people during public meetings and say all sorts of weird crazy stuff. What a great endorsement for Kennedy!

FYI Dana Kennedy is not the candidate Dana Marie Kennedy (not sure what the point in posting as if you are me)- Have fun acting like you are me. Politics can be fun.

A large percentage of Sal's contributions come from Developers, what does that say about him? I see some out of area and out of state donations on the www.cityofphoenix.gov site in his campaign finance reports as well.
He left us hanging before for greener pastures, what makes you think he won't bail on us again?? I for one will take my chances with Ms. Kennedy! She cares about the issues effecting District 6.

I laugh at the evil "developer" line. Such a notion tries to persuade others to believe developer donations are tainted unlike the millions of dollars used by union thugs; donations not used in hopes their voice is heard but insured....and then some.
Kennedy is a super liberal, head of a movement to develop candidates that are pro-union to the point of a superior loyalty over other interests and dedicated to their advancement. Period...end of story.

Speaking of the two Dana Kennedy's, there's a third listed on that site. Last name has only one "n":
www.emergeamerica.org/about/board
Dana Kenedy
Executive Director, Emerge Arizona
That's either a typo, ID theft, or just a clever way to pretend you're something other than who you really are.

Speaking of Greta, she loved Sal, then Greg, then Sal, then Barry, then Dana. Hope she hangs up on those people calling asking for her credit card.

Why do they call him "Sanctuary City Sal" over at the Sonoran Alliance?
Posted by: Blackheart | October 07, 2009 at 01:13 AM
I see the choice, dear voters is --- McCainlite or a Pelosilite? lesser of two evils?????

Scott Wong's story today said the committee supporting Kennedy is being fined but had "no official ties to the Kennedy campaign" and I question that. The committee is chaired by Kohn, who is the director of Emerge Nevada. Dana Kenedy (again, I think the name is mispelled on the website) is on the board of Emerge Nevada. So Kohn works for Kennedy. That's a pretty official tie.

...and if you finished the article the point is clear, Kennedy didn't take any money from this organization nor was she working with them.
Posted by: Amazed | October 07, 2009 at 05:34 PM
It doesn't matter that no money transferred. Two women whose salaries are based on donations from people who believe they are helping women campaign successfully into public office, couldn't follow basic campaign rules. The very thing they supposedly earn a living teaching to others. These are the LAST two people who should be associated with such an infraction. At least if that organization is to be a credible job reference for the position which is being sought after in this campaign. Holding office is a whole lot more complicated than winning the office, and if simple rules not only are not followed, but ignored, what does that say about what could be to come?

It's kind of interesting that DiCiccio's campaign has raised double the amount of money from out-of-state contributors that Kennedy's has. And Sal has actually taken "Las Vegas money", while Kennedy's campaign has collected nothing from Las Vegas contributors to date.
It does matter that no money transfered from this organization, since Sal's robocalls are claiming that Kennedy is "is calling in BIG Las Vegas political money to back her struggling campaign".

Interesting how a "developer" was such a noble profession when Jim Pedersen was running for (buying) Jon Kyl's seat. Even more interesting that developer contributions were fine when it was Janet Napolatino raking in hundreds of thousands from them.
Liberal duplicity... hilarious, yet frightening.
