Last week I mentioned that the Ed Phillips is putting together an organization called the "Scottsdale Economic Growth Association." I pointed out that Scottsdale needs someone who can bring all sides together and that Ed Phillips is likely to be the guy who can do it.
Things must be going really well because I found out today that SEGA is going to host next week's Scottsdale State of the City Address. I think the event will be modeled on the Phoenix and Tempe State of the City Addresses. Here's the brochure that the Phoenix Chamber sent out when they hosted the Phoenix event. The Tempe Chamber of Commerce hosts Hugh Hallman's State of the City Address. Here's the brochure that they use.
The Scottsdale State of the City Address is Thursday the 18th at 5:30 at the Scottsdale Arts Center. I'm assuming that the speech and reception are free. I'm sure that Ed Phillips has all the sponsor information and details. edphillips@cox.net.
The Tempe Chamber of Commerce hosts Hugh Hallman's State of the City Address because he is the mayor of Tempe.
That's Mayor Hugh Hallman. It just sounded strange without the title. I know you're read across the nation (and probably the world), but not everyone knows Hugh Hallman, yet...

Who is giving the Scottsdale State of the City address? The only name that is mentioned is Ed Phillips, isn't the Mayor of Scottsdale Jim Lane? Maybe Hugh Hallman SHOULD give the address, but why mention him and not Mayor Lane...not that either gentleman would complain. Wierd.
