At first thought, it would appear that by removing the signs you would be in violation of state law.

However, unlike Obama, eric Holder and Nappy, I did read the law.

"A.R.S. 16-1019. Political signs; tampering; classification

A. It is a class 2 misdemeanor for any person to knowingly remove, alter, deface or cover any political sign of any candidate for public office for the period commencing forty-five days prior to a primary election and ending seven days after the general election.

B. The provisions of this section shall not apply to the removal, alteration, defacing or covering of a political sign by the candidate or the authorized agent of the candidate in support of whose election the sign was placed, or by the owner or authorized agent of the owner of private property on which such signs are placed with or without permission of the owner, or placed in violation of state law, or county, city or town ordinance or regulation."

It appears that since these are not specifically "candidate" signs, you might be OK by simply cutting them down.

If the signs are on private property, you possibly could be cited for trespassing, and since the signs are not yours, if you take them, you could be guilty of theft.

My suggestion would be to call the City code enforcement. They usually are very good at making quick removals of signs that are not in compliance.

I thought that Brewer attached her signs to them because she wants to parlay 100 into part of the education vote...conveniently omitting that shen has cut education the last two years by the largest number in the history of the state.
There would be absolutely no reason for the Education people to post next to Brewer but every reason for Brewer to post next to them.

I noticed the same thing: attached to Brewer's one day and detached but nearby the next.

Always troubled me that ballot measure signs are apparently not covered by this statute.

Illegal? ... highly unlikely, but very likely an over reaction (by the pundit)to community efforts to objectively promote education in AZ. What should be illegal is: self promotion of policing AZ armed w/ bias (i.e. limited facts)and unwarranted denigration of people/orgs... as illustrated by the self infliction - "is it illegal"! Clearly, not very well researched, while seeking some solice and validation in public opinion. Discovery of the facts would seem quite appropriate before speaking out, but this is now moot!

Prop 100 Largest tax increase in state history. Signs go up Saturday. Nearby but not attached to Brewer signs.

They hired union guys to put up both Brewer's and the 4 Educations signs at the same time. I witnessed known union guys doing the work. They have screwed up royally this time. This is a liberal movement to dupe the public. Citizen's of Arizona... you've been manipulated, lied to, and deceived. I know it, they know it... and when you know it the war these clowns are waging can end. They are making millions off your ignorance Arizona. Wake up!

Koolz: who are "they"?

"Known union guys"? Are these the same ones going through your trash and circumventing your foil helmet?
